Iraqs elections were certified and things are moving forward. The Iraqi people can now stand up to the world and say we are for real. In a country that was held hostage by a vicious dictator for thirty years, they are now living in a fledgling democracy. The people of Iraq have spoken. Now isn't it time that the rest of the world (and those defeatist in America) to cheerfully acknowledge this new democracy. Although it is true that they are just starting their journey, they have taken a major step in joining the rest of the free world as an equal. More and more of the everyday patrols are being undertaken by the Iraqi soldiers and although American deaths still occur, their numbers are down.
No matter how you look at it Iraq's star is starting to shine. More and more Iraqi's are assisting Iraqi soldiers and Coalition soldiers in tracking down the insurgents as are discribed in this story. This and the previous story posted here are definite signs that they (the Iraqi's) and Coalition forces are having a lot of success. Now if we can just stop armaments from IRAN from getting into Iraq the insurgents will have less and less to terrorize with.
As the Title suggests I am a vet, and proud of it, and proud of all those that wear the uniform of the United States of America. You name it we'll talk about it. Politics, sports and much more. However, I am also very interested in what is happening to this great country of ours, politically and socially...So SOUND OFF PRIVATE!!!
