With all the hub bub over these cartoons in the Middle East causing riots and the such, has the Muslim World ever thought that, in part, these cartoons were brought upon them by the actions of their fellow Muslims? You know, the extremists. The ones that go around beheading folks simply because they are not, or in some cases are, Muslims and don't follow their personal hatreds for mankind. The same ones that are willing to kill innocent civilians to try and get their way. The ones that preach death to all infidels, and whose sole purpose in life is to overthrow the world.
Now please don't get me wrong. I don't for moment think that all Muslims are this way. In fact the Muslims that I know are quite generous, and, very much so, peace loving. However, there are those few that are willing to give the rest of the Muslim world a black eye. Yet, when one is to depict these extremists how are they to do it? In my opinion, having not seem any pictorial runs of Mohamed, have no idea what he would look like. So, are we therefore not to have any caricatures of the Muslim world?
I have yet to hear an outcry from the Muslims, when 9/11 occurred there were many depictions in praise of the killing of Americans. Yet, though "denounced" by some in the Muslim world, the overwhelming majority praised the actions of these terrorists; and we are suppose fall over back wards apologizing for some cartoons drawn by an lone editorial cartoonist in Denmark? The majority of this "irritation" is coming from the Imams in certain countries. Imams that would love to see the overthrow of western civilization. Get over it, just like we had to get over the outrageous caricaturization of Christ, or God. Just like we are suppose to get over being called infidels by the Muslim world. That is "FREEDOM OF SPEECH". We are Americans, hated as we may be, we are still the best country in the world to live in and we are the leading country in the world in the freedoms of speech and religion. Otherwise so many Arabs or people of Middle Eastern decent wouldn't be trying to get into the United States, to attend our colleges and further their educations. As for me, I do not apologize for having seen these cartoons (I didn't draw them). Nor do I accept any of those that do apologize for us. What was done is wrong, but definitely not worth destroying private property, or rioting over.
When and if the Muslim world decides to change some of their fellow Muslims, and have them display a little more respect for the "freedoms" that they want to enjoy, will the view of the "western" world change. Threatening us will only inflame the situation, but we will not appease terrorists to calm the Muslim world (not even Iran).
As the Title suggests I am a vet, and proud of it, and proud of all those that wear the uniform of the United States of America. You name it we'll talk about it. Politics, sports and much more. However, I am also very interested in what is happening to this great country of ours, politically and socially...So SOUND OFF PRIVATE!!!
